Just who IS Frankie Takes a Bite Out of Pain, you may wonder. We are a band of woofers and our humans -- kinda like "Mr. Peabody and his boy, Sherman." A while back, me started a blog to talk about life with my Mom who has longstanding rheumatoid arthritis and coronary artery disease (2 heart attacks) and Dad with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

During this time, me became an elite Troll Slayer, protecting my humans and family from pain-inflicting trolls. Over time, me became the Commander of the Woof Pack Warriors. We have troops all over the US and abroad! We battle them pernicious trolls intent on disrupting and playing havoc with the lives of our humans in chronic pain!

If you have a human in pain, we encourage you to join us in our quest to share comfort, joy, and hope. To stomp on trolls and share light where there is darkness! Woof!

Go to www.woofpack.us and join us! Follow us on Facebook for daily updates & encouragement! https://www.facebook.com/FrankieKnowsPain/

Marge, Apprentice and long-term Woof Pack Leader says:
Frankie's blog is a whimsical vignette and support group. Frankie's mom supports better health and well-being through whimsy, love, and encouragement.

We are Warriors.

Having earned our badge of honor, not by attacking, but by enduring.

Strong, not by tearing down any of the Creator's beings, but by uplifting.

Having triumphed over pain--not just any pain, but chronic pain. Chronic pain of the body, mind, and spirit. Sometimes visible to the world, most times hidden behind our fortified smiles.

Having endured disappointment, depression, and unrelenting physical attacks. At times brought to our actual knees in agony.

We are Warriors.

Our mission is to not bow to pain in any of its myriad of disguises, but to stand against this enemy that is relentlessly attacking.

In our strength we have come full circle and now take back our body, mind, and spirit, combining them to work in tandem to defeat the invader, pain.

We were not created to accept this invader, but to prevail and triumph over it.

Warriors will step in to fill the gap. We understand that any Warrior, at anytime, can be in need of reinforcement and we rotate our forces as necessary.

We understand if knocked down and for a time unable to get up, we have the ability to call on our fellow Warriors for additional strength, knowing that all pain, mental or physical, is cyclical.
We are dedicated to our instilled beliefs given by the Creator.  We do not judge, but support.

We respect all animals, understanding they are a gift - even if that gift is for a limited time.

We are the Woof Pack Warriors.  Our mission is to fight pain in all its forms.

Like our name implies, we are a pack - innately knowing there is strength in numbers.  We are a strong vibration of beings banded together.

Frankie, our Pain Troll Slayer has made us a group; our life experiences have made us Warriors.

We are Warriors.

Every day--as Frankie the Troll Slayer--me stand ready to command the WoofPack and protect my family and friendlies from pain-inflicting trolls. They want to invade the mind, body, and spirit spreading darkness along with all the pains. But the Woofers strive to share the light and help humans find comfort, hope, and joy! Hoo!

Unexpectedly, the other day me woke up and was sluggish and could barely lift my feets. When trying to breathe me felt like I was underwater; Mom said I was struggling to breathe even in my sleep!

Hey, them trolls somehow sneaked in and messed with my heart! So now, me have first-hand experience with painful pain. Me confident that this just makes me stronger and better able to help those challenged by the mean ol' hurts!

With evil trolls, we have options: kick them in the knees, stomp on 'em, or bite their stinking butts! >Snap!< Ha ha!

Summer's Here and Time Is Right To Help Stop Pain

Have you see’d a lot of small people out and about lately? Mom says it’s because summer has started and all of the kids are out of school.  Hmmm ….. Do all these kids go to ‘bedience school?

I’ve never been to school, but I hear it’s lots of fun – especially nap time and recess!  But that’s OK. I need to be home taking care of mom and dad – and, of course, huntin’ for trolls.  Yep, huntin’ for trolls is a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it – especially now that summer is here.

We love the sun and especially spring & fall but my mom says the pain is worse on days when it’s super all hot outside and the air feels all wet – like my nose.  She can feel it in her joints when a storm’s comin’ – which is pretty near every day when it is really hot outside. It’s a bummer when it’s raining and I can’t go out and play, but the worst part is seeing my mom in pain.  She is the best mom in the whole world, so I’m glad to hunt those mean trolls for her!
If you’re a kid and your mom and dad hurt, huntin’ pain-inflicting trolls is something you can do for them, too.  And, of course, you can help them by warm snuggles and being extra nice and helpful, too. Join the Pack and learn troll hunting skills and how to help your people who hurt feel better!
Now that school is out, you Woofers have more time for troll huntin.’ No matter how old you are, summertime is a great time to join the Woof Pack.  Go to Woof Pack Nation and add your Pack Name and where you are located. Your help is needed. Do it now!

What is Frankie’s mission?
Frankie's mission is to help humans in chronic disease pain find comfort, hope, and joy via his blog, chronicles, and messages of inspiration on his website, WoofPack.us and Frankie Takes A Bite Out Of Pain on Facebook.

Check out our new website called Hope Springs Village. Over the years, I have learned the importance of something called Patient Empowerment. Mom and dad live with lots of medical appointments. It adds to an already complicated and lots of times --bone weary life.
Hope Springs Village is a community with resources to help you feel more capable and able to get through the day. Learn tips like; keep a notebook of medical interactions, prioritize your medical questions, prepare for an appointment. Get names and hold people accountable in a calm & efficient manner.

Our new Website offers education, encouragement and empowerment to those in chronic disease pain! Please share it with your friends who hurt. Together we can help each other take a bite out of pain!!  Find the keys to empowerment. Look at the action items and get moving. Share what you learn with others. You're not alone; we need your voice. Together we are a force to be reckon with -- influencing our healthcare interactions.

A favorite community offering (as you can image) of mine is the WoofPack Pet Shop – here you can empower yourself with the positive effects of pets and “take a bite out of pain.”

Me ready for a new day! Them there birds they are a'chirping! Mom gave me good ole chicken to start the day in a healthy way!! Loves me some chicken. Y'all eat good today! Protein, veggies and fruit helps the body be stronger, oh and walk around the house if u can. Or the park-- hint hint!! Me gonna walk mom later!!

We pace ourselves when walking ‘cause Mom’s knees, feet, and hips not that good. Her has an inflammatory disease that eats away at the cushion between her joints.  Her snap, crackles and pops now, cause she is delaying joint replacement!!  Last week, her got up at a meeting and her knees started to crackle and pop – pretty loud! Lady beside her giggled like Mom had pooted! **blush** So, Mom looked at her and said, “No worries, I don’t think anyone heard you!” – ha! Mom was so embarrassed and said she was done with meetings!

Told her, don’t be silly Momma, you strong and a giggle or two at your expense is minor when chronic pain tries to knock you down! ‘Member, we are too tough to let a poot or two sideline us!! Me loves you Woof Packers!! Together we can face the day and lift each other up.

Pain Changes Things

Hi it's me Frankie and Wally my little brother. We got up early cause mom said we are going on an adventure to the park today! We love the park, so much to do -- we run, jump, chase squirrels and look for trolls. Mom says trolls are mischievous and always looking to ‘cause trouble. They poke at you till the hurts get the best of you, but they hide when you're feeling good so it’s hard to make them leave. Me and Wally always are looking for them mean ole trolls so we can chase them from mom.

Anyway, we were all ready to go when mom woke up with big swollen knees. Her rheumatoid arthritis flared overnight. She said her sad because it was hard hard hard to walk. I think a saw a tear or 2. When dad got up he said we could still have our adventure, we just had to adjust the plan. He said, “We're going to have a chicken picnic right here today with our favorite music.” Me and Wally love chicken and music makes us happy campers, for sure. Mom's face broke into a sweet smile from her place on the couch.

Mine and Wally's other mother came over and put a picnic together with music and we pretended we were at the park -- we ran around the house, jumped and chased the ball. Yep, plans change with pain but who said it had to take over our joy? Not with me and Wally, we gots the joy down in our hearts! Come play with us!

My brother, Wally, is moving back home! My other Mom and Dad took him with them for military training. As you know, I stayed home with Mom and Dad to take care of them. Mom has rheumatoid arthritis and Dad has Lou Gehrig’s disease. They need me every day for fun and comfort and cuddles! Anyway, Wally lived with us his first 6 months of life just like I lived with my 2 Moms and 2 Dads and my Aunt for the first year of my life.

I can’t wait! But Wally has visited a few times over the last 2 years and he is a bit of an Army brat! You know what that is?!? He thinks he is the boss of me!! He wants to push me around and take my bones. Mom hides all the bones when Wally here now ‘cause Wally bloodied my nose once! I am worried that me not get any more bones ever. But Mom says Wally won’t be living with us but with his other family so I will get bones and treats when Wally goes to his new home. I love having Mom and Dad to myself but I really love by brother! Bones or Wally?? I pick Wally 4 sure...most of the time.

I know family is important; they give you support and love which helps the hurts in life, especially families of the heart. My Woof Pack is my heart family. I love you good.

Moms Are Special

You know what with tomorrow being Mom's Day, I'm giving thanks for my Momma! And for the special strong women in my life who raised me up from a little bitty pup! For my Stevie who lets me lick her toes! For Kathy who loves to play ball and snuggle! To Pudgy who lets me jump up in her arms! These are Frankie's extended family from when he was borned. I love them all for the joy and laughter! We are the original Woof Pack members! Me, Frankie, is so lucky 'cause me has all of you, too!

If there is one thingie Frankie knows, it is pain. Most all my life pain has bullied its way in it. Mom deals with pain everyday (my Stevie, Kathy and Pudge knows it too) but we work as a unit -- to minimize pain. Mom says when I was delivered to them life became brighter--her and dad and my other moms give thanks every day for me! Makes me laugh out loud! Me special!

You are special to me. If the hurts get to you this Mom's Day write me a note! Call a friend. Walk outside and feel the light shine on you! Experience the moment! Don't live in the future or the past, just experience the day!! You are beautiful!! Frankie loves you.

Pain Takes A Lickin'

A thankful attitude has the power to lift you up and not drag you down. Me and Momma were talking about this today. Last week Momma’s feet hurt bad, her toes are dislocated from RA and the bones try to drive through her foots. She calls it walking on pebbles – some days dull “easy to get around” pain and others sharp “want to scream” pain.

Momma is unhappy at times ‘cause her weight is going up and this hurts her knees. We love ice cream and Momma says just looking at it gives her joy! But no, we don’t just look at it! Anyway, we are thankful that we live in a world where we can go eat ice cream any time we wants to.

Today we are counting our blessings; family, friends, home, books, parks, and so much more! Next time my Momma and me wants ice cream I plan to lick her cheek ‘cause she’s gooder than ice cream, for sure. Find something to be thankful for today and let me know. Hear me?
